Brighton sign Spurs youngster

Brighton have signed Tottenham youngster John Piercy on a one-year deal.

The 23-year-old arrives at The Withdean following a successful four week trial with The Seagulls.

Piercy has been restricted to reserve team action at White Hart Lane but became captain of the second string.

Brighton boss Martin Hinshelwood told the clubs official site of his delight at the completing the signing. "He's been here for four weeks and we've been very impressed with him. He's a player who can play in a variety of positions.

"He's the right age and his ability to play in a number of different positions will give us plenty of options."
