Southall heads to Norwich

Norwich have signed utility player Nicky Southall on a 3-month loan deal from Premiership Bolton.

Southall was thought to be heading for his former club Gillingham to help ease their injury crisis. It was however Norwich who swooped for Southall. The former Grimsby man can play on either flank as a winger or full back and has also played in central midfield.

Southall praised the set-up at Carrow Road when speak to BBC Radio Norfolk and hinted towards a permanent move. "I think the manager wants it to happen.

"I definitely want it to happen so we'll just have to see what develops over the next few weeks.

"It's a great set-up here and this is a good opportunity for me. I want to show the Norwich fans what I can do at this level."
