Grimsby Town ran riot last night with George Burley's UEFA Cup hopefull's Ipswich Town.

The pre-season promotion and relegation hopefulls met at Blundell Park but the bookie's odds went straight out the window.

Grimsby raced into the lead after just 8 minutes. Steve Kabba using his pace to sprint towards goal and fire past Andy Marshall after Stuart Campbell's clever through ball.

The lead was doubled 10 minutes later, Kabba again running onto a through ball, this time by Terry Cooke, before Wayne Brown brought the Crystal Palace loan man down. Alan Pouton converted from the spot.

Both teams continued to miss chances galore but in the 62nd minute Grimsby secure the match. Kabba played a delightful long range one-two with George Santos before volleying home from close range.
