An Alex Rae inspired victory came Wolves way as a first half tap in from Joleon Lescott after a great 20 yard effort was tipped onto the post gave Wolves the lead , and Rae himself struck a powerful second into the net on 77 minutes to wrap up the pionts.

Gillingham 1 Sheff Wed 1

A Late Late equaliser by on loan chelsea striker Leon Knight salvaged a piont for new boss Chris Turner , ex Villa hitman Tommy Johnston gave the Gills the lead with his first goal of the season.

Player Boss Andy Hessentaler was red carded in the 80th minute for two yellows.

Grimsby 3 Preston 3

A goal glut at Blundell Park today but Grimsby will feel they gave the game away letting in two goals in the last six minutes , an early Stuart Campbell goal on 3 minutes for Grimsby was cancelled out 20 minutes later when Richard Cresswell levelled up for Preston,  Ford gave Grimsby the lead again and then ten minutes from time Mansaram thought he wrapped up the pionts for the home side putting them 3-1 up.

But two goals in the last six minutes for Preston by an Graham Alexander penalty and a 88th minute equaliser bu Dixon Etuhu shared the pionts at Blundell Park.

Millwall 2 Leicester 2

Denis Wise came back to haunt his old club by claiming an 81st minute equaliser , two goals in the first 3 minutes first by Heath and then two minutes later by Brian Deane put Leicester 2-0 up , Steven Reid grabbed a goal before half time and that little menace Wise helping him self to the leveller.

Norwich 2 C Palace 0

Norwich kept tabs with the leaders as they comfortably beat Crystal Palace 2-0 , a great finish by Paul Mcveigh on 9 minutes set the tone for the afternoon , Norwich wrapped up the pionts with Iwan Roberts netting late on 87 minutes to keep Norwich 3rd.

Nottm Forest 3 Bradford 0

Nottm Forest wrapped up this game in the first half to keep in the promotion frame , first half strikes by Jack Lester , David Johnston and Louis Jean put Forest up 3-0 before the 36th minute mark , David Johnstons goal was his 17th of the season.

Portsmouth 3 Stoke 0

Pompey go seven clear at the top and carry on there wonderful start to the season , they left it late to wrap up the win , goals from Burchill , Pericard and Todorov  kept Harry Redknapps side romping towards the Premiership.

This defeat for Stoke was there 7th on the trot.

Rotherham 0 Burnley 0

The deadlock at Millmoor was about the right result for both sides , Burnley and Rotherham both came close to winning the game late on but the draw keeps both sides nicely placed just above midtable.

Wimbledon 3 Walsall 2

Even a late goal by Walsall from a Danny Sonner penalty wasn't enough to give the Saddlers a deserved piont , because on 90 minutes Damein Francis sneeked in and broke the Saddlers heart with a late winner.

Before that Jobi Mcanuff put the Dons ahead on 25 minutes , Junior equalised in the second half , after that a Ludo Pollet error gifted Neil Shipperly the chance to put Wimbledon ahead and he duly abliged  then after that was the late late drama.
