Kuqi No Go To Pompey

Reports yesterday about Shefki Kuqi possible loan move to Pompey was quickly dimissed today by Wednesday Boss Chris Turner.

Chris Turner has quickly stepped in to quash rumours of an impending loan move for Shefki Kuqi to leaders Pompey , Wednesday currently lieing second to bottom in Division One have only Sibon , Kuqi , Knight and Lloyd Owusu as the only strikers and loaning Kuqi out would leave them stretched up front.

Speaking to the Wednesday official site Turner said "We do have to wheel and deal, freshen the squad up and improve it, but unless there are any concrete offers then no player will leave. If an offer is made, I have to consider whether it is a good option for us."

Turner also added "I believe there is an interest from Portsmouth in Shefki but he won't be going on loan anywhere - we're not in the business of loaning any of our experienced players out. I understand there has been some contact between the clubs, but I haven't spoken to either Harry Redknapp or Jim Smith this week."

With current league postion a worry at Hillsbrough it would be daft to let Kuqi go elsewhere , Chris Turner has also enquired into getting the services of Wolves Adam Proudlock but that's aas far as it goes at the moment.
