Bradford 1 Gillingham 3
Bradford's plight at the bottom continues with there seventh straight defeat at home to Gillingham , it all started rosey enough for the Bantams as just before half time Andy Gray put the hosts ahead.
The second half was a complete nightmare but funnily enough Bradford started the brighter but on 59 minutes a controversly penalty was awarded for a foul on Mama Sidibe which was comfortably put away by Marlon King , that killed Bradford and another goal by King (74) and a last minute goal by Rod Wallace put's Bradford right in the mire
Burnley 1 Nottm Forest 0
Burnley's recent good run continues and put's them just four pionts off a top six placing , the only goal of the game came on 28 minutes from Lee Briscoe , a cracking cross into the box by Paul Cook found Briscoe who rose the highest to plant the ball past the stranded Forest Keeper.
Forest had there chances the best falling to David Johnson having found space in the box the shot from Johnson was very weak and did'nt trouble the keeper.
Crystal Palace 1 Millwall 0
Crystal Palace came out the victors in this South London Derby match , the matchwinning hero was Danny Granville who curled in a beauty of a free kick from 20 yards , the game was end to end with both teams having chances of further goals but this Palace win leapfrogs them above Millwall into 12th position.
Derby 3 Watford 0
Derby forgot about there off the field problems to ease past a Hornets side that have forgot how to win , an early goal from Lee Morris set up a lovely afternoon for the Rams.
Derby were lucky to get to the break still in front as Watford pressed strongly for an equaliser , but all the fears was put to one side as the home side scored two second half goals from Chris Riggot (62) and unhappy striker Deon Burton (71).
Ipswich 1 Rotherham 2
Ipswich keep foxing people because of there home form and Rotherham were yet another club to leave Portman Road very very happy , it all started ok for the Tractor Boys as they took an 11th minute lead through a clever Fabian Wilis strike.
Rotherham were quickly back in the game from a Stewart Talbot header on 25 minutes ,and just before half time a sweet Richie Barker strike sealed the win before half time for the Millers , Ipswich pressed but Rotherham held on to keep them on the fringe of the playoffs.
Leicester 0 Sheff Utd 0
With an early kick off for leaders Pompey today Leicester knew this was a great chance to claw a few pionts back on them , but both teams had to settle for a piont withe Leicester feeling they had let 2 pionts slip.
Both team had chances to win the game , Leicester's best chance came on 43 minutes when Paul Dickov got into the area but seeing his shot smoothered quickly by Paddy Kenny , the Blades best effort was a great 25 yard free kick from Dean Windass but his effort cleared the crossbar.
Preston 3 Wimbledon 5
No doubt the game of the day was here at Deepdale , how Preston gave this one away i will never know , Preston were quick of the blocks and scored on 11 minutes from a Mikele Leigertwood's own goal , Wimbledon levelled up just before half time when Connelly was put clean through and easily slotted the ball home from just inside the area.
No rest bite for Wimbledon though as Preston scored to take the lead immediatly another fine goal as well scored by the magical midfielder Mckenna.
Preston went 3-1 up from the penalty spot on 56 minutes from Graeme Alexander, but what was about to happen left the Preston fan booing hard at fulltime , Wimbledon struck back from another penalty kick this time converted by David Connelly again , then the equaliser came from the impressive Jobi Mcanuff on 72 , by now Preston were a team well and truly beaten and goals to wrap up the win came from Mcanuff again (82) and a last minute strike from Reo Coker.
Reading 0 Portsmouth 0
Honours even in this battle of the Division One form teams , Both teams pressed hard for a result but defending from both back lines was the key of the day.
Portsmouth were guilty of missing chances especilly from Todorov who missed a great chance of putting further daylight between them selves and Leicester, Reading impressed as well and chances from the Royals went a begging as well , the best of them from Nicky Forster who had two efforts but couldnt put them on target.
Sheff Wed 1 Brighton 1
Brighton were 2 minutes away from getting off the bottom of the league only to be out done by the magic of Shefki Kuqi , the big target man was put clean through and after taking the keeper on made life a bit hard by stalling before finding a gap to slot home on 90 minutes.
Before that Brighton scored the goal they thought would win the game by Gary Hart on 20 minutes he headed home from a few yards out , but in the end an heartbreaking finale for the Seagulls and a few thank god's from the home areas.
Stoke 1 Coventry 2
The misery at Brittania continues with Soke going down again at home to a plucky Coventry side who them selves are not in great form either , Two early goals from man of the match Jay Bothroyd got the Sky Blues of to a cracking start , the first came on 16 and the second 5 minutes later.
Stoke were thrown a lifeline on 35 minutes when Peter Hoesktra saw his deflected free kick fly in the net , Stoke tried in vain to get the leveller.
Stoke's terrible day got worse throught the afternoon they had two sent off , Thomas and Gunnarson were dismissed both for getting two yellow cards , it seems everybody can Rule Brittania these days except for poor Stoke.
Walsall 3 Grimsby 1
Walsall grabbed all three pionts with both hands today as they out battled a Grimsby side still staring at relegation , it took the Saddlers only 27 minutes to score from the Bescot god Junior but Grimsby levelled within 10 minutes from veteran Steve Livingstone.
Grimsby were playing some nice stuff but were undone by Jorge Leitao who was put through by Junior and slotted the ball under a static Danny Coyne , Walsall wrapped up the victory by scoring there third on 87 minutes through Darren Wrack , this victory takes the Saddlers 10 pionts clear of the drop zone but leaves Grimsby in all kind of trouble.
Wolves 1 Norwich 0
Wolves thoroughly deserved all three pionts in this fast and frantic game , the hero off the day was loan star Carlton Cole who netted the only goal of the game , the giant striker was on hand to fire the ball in after great work from Kennedy to get the cross in from the left.
Wolves were amazing and should have wrapped the game up easily but they always let Norwich in and if the strike force were not marshalled well by Clyde and Lescott it could have been different.
