Watford have released former Arsenal player Stephen hughes and Tottenham keeper Espen Baardsen.

Both have left Vicarage Road after reaching agreements by mutual consent to end there deals.

Former Arsenal star Stephen Hughes joined Watford from Everton on a free transfer in 2001 , but never really impressed both Gainluca Vialla and Ray Lewington.

Baardsen joined Watford for £1.25 million in 2000, and also never really made an impact making only 46 appearances for the Hornets.

Watford still in debt and currently struggling to keep pace with the top teams in div 1, allowed the pair to go to ease finanicial problems.
