Johnson Out For 5 Weeks

Gillingham striker Tommy Johnson has suffered a broken bone in his foot and will sit out of action for up to five weeks.

Gillingham will now miss the injury prone striker for upto 5 weeks , he suffered a broken bone in his foot in a challenge with his fellow player Mamady Sidibe.

The Gills were unaware that any damage was substained until the club doctor told them after a scan today.

Gills first team coach Wayne Jones speaking on the offical club website said "We didn't realise until after Tommy had a scan on Tuesday that he's got a small fracture in his foot and instead of being out for a week he will miss four or five.

"It's very disappointing. Tommy has had a few injuries since he joined us and hasn't had enough time to get a good run in the team.

Johnson hasn't really figured much this season and the strikers injury jinx continues.

"Hopefully, when he recovers from this he can finally get some games under his belt and start scoring." Jones also added.
