Pompey have had some great news learning defender Gianluca Festa may return earlier then the original February date pencilled in.

Pompey will be upbeat with the news Gianluca Festa may return earlier then scheduled to training and a first team return.

The Italian defender suffered a knee injury colliding with team mate Arjan De Zueew in November, and Harry Redknapp has stated that he may return to training next week.

Harry Redknapp speaking to the Portsmouth local paer The News said "When he got injured we expected him to be out for three months. But we hope to have him back training with us again next week.

"He's a very good player and it will be a big plus to have him back with us." Redknapp also added
