Pompey Sign Stone

Portsmouth today completed the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Steve Stone on a free transfer.

Steve Stone makes his loan signing a permanent one today as he signed on the dotted line for Portsmouth.

Stone was succesful in his loan spell and Pompey manager quickly swooped to get his man on a full time basis.

Steve Stone was reported to be very unhappy at Villa and this move will possible be his last of his career.

He played 5 games and scored once in his loan spell but feared that an injury might count out a move back to Fratton Park after returning to Villa Park because of the injury.
