Hammers Keen On Bent

According to national newspaper The Sun Hammers boss Glenn Roeder is lining up a swoop for Ipswich forward Marcus Bent.

Glenn Roeder is looking at Ipswich's Marcus Bent as the answer to his striking problems , with the Hammers boss playing defender Ian Pearce up front with Jermaine Defoe the forward line looks a bit thin.

Paulo Di Canio is out for upto 2 months and with doubts about Freddie Kanoute's fitness he needs strenght up front quickly, they are trying to create Premiership history by being the first team to avoid the drop after being bottom as xmas and Marcus Bent could be the answer to there problems.

Ipswich did put a £3 million price tag on Bent's head but may be forced to lower the price to shift the player on , the 24 year old is big and powerful in the air thats the reason Roeder would love him at Upton Park.
