A vital game between two other strugglers at the
bottom of the league was at Valley Parade as Bradford out-fought Stoke City to
win 4-2 although Stoke were 2-1 up at half time. This was a massive win for
Bradford who could have slumped to 21st had they lost. Stoke stay in the bottom
three, level with both Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday on 17 points, six adrift

Burnley put the horrors of conceding ten goals in
past matches against Rotherham and Gillingham behind them as they beat Wolves
2-1 at Turf Moor. The Clarets goals were scored by Gareth Taylor and Dean West
before half time, only for Wolves to pull one back in the later stages of the
game through Paul Butler with a few minutes to go, both teams are currently are
a few points off Coventry, who are in the last of the play off positions with 39

to record a fourth successive win in the league to climb to seventh. Goals from
Ritchie Partridge and Craig Hignett handed them a 2-0 win over Reading at

Another surprise result came at Pride Park as Derby
were beaten 3-1 at home to struggling Grimsby. Grimsby took the lead after only
a few minutes through John Oster, who scored two in the game to help win the
game for the Mariners, who have now won two on a row as they continue to open up
a little gap between them and the relegation places. Derby levelled through Lee
Morris but were unable to find an answer to Osters second goal and a first goal
in league football for sub David Soames.

television despite being 1 up thanks to a Paul Dickov penalty just after half
time, but a Ipswich comeback helped them to win 2-1 in the end thanks to goals
from Ambrose and Gaardsoe in the last five minutes. Leicester must surely be
ruing their luck, with Portsmouth drawing may games recently they should be
taking advantage and they could get closer to top spot, also they will see this

The spoils were shared between two south east teams
at The Den where Millwall and Gillingham fought for a 2-2 draw. Gillingham lead
after eight minutes, only for Millwall to lead 2-1 with goals from Ryan and Neil
Harris, but the work of getting them to lead the game was wasted after they gave
away a penalty a few minutes after going ahead, Marlon King ensured that a point
would go back to the Prestfield Stadium by converting the penalty.
