Cooke Injury Blow For Stoke

Stoke striker Andy Cooke will be missing most of January with bad knee ligament damage.

The incident happened in the 1-1 draw at Wimbledon on December 21st , and will keep him out all of January and maybe longer.

It's a bitter blow for the Potters in the bid to avoid the drop, the news about the nature of the injury was confirmed by hospital scans today.

A clubspokesman for Stoke said "There is a slight tear in one of the cruciates.

"It's not a major injury and does not require an operation but it does require resting and time to heal itself."
