Pompey boss Harry Redknapp as quickly snapped up Arsenal defender Stathis Tavlaridis on a month's loan to bolster Pompey's thin defensive line.

With key injurys to Arjaan De Zeeuw and Gianluca Festa - Redknapp as acted quickly to acquire the services of Arsenal defender Stathis Tavlaridis for a month.

The 22 year old former Greece international will get his crack at first team football after failing to get in the Gunners side at present.

Redknapp speaking to the Pompey official site said "We needed to act quickly and have. He's a big, strong lad and a very good player."

He will go straight into the squad for there FA Cup tie at Old Trafford tommorow.
