Milwall striker Richard Sadlier has been ruled out of travelling to Japan/Korea with Ireland. The youngster was supposed to be on the verge of the squad.

Sadlier out of World Cup

Sadlier's club boss, Mark McGhee and international boss, Mick McCarthy came to an agreement regarding Sadlier which means he won't travel to the World Cup, not as a player anyhow.

The Dublin born striker made his international debut in Feburary against Russia following a successful start to the season. Sadlier has been troubled by a hip injury for a few months but will still play thorugh the pain barrier for the Lions in their quest for play-off success but will have an operation in the troublesome hip at the end of April.
