Preston Looking At Arsenal Kids

Preston are looking to swipe away Brighton's on loan Gunners striking duo Graeme Barrett and Steve Sidwell.

Steve Sidwell has played down rumours of him being linked to a move to Deepdale he stated today "I just want to play football," he told the club's official website.

"I'll leave all this paper talk to other people."

"I just want to give my all to Brighton while I'm here and hopefully it can continue to the end of the season."

Sidwell has been an instant hero at the Withdean along with college Graeme Barratt , who today has also been linked with a move to Deepdale.

Preston chairman Derek Shaw speaking to the official website said "It is unfortunate that the details of this deal have emerged in the press over the weekend as we normally don't like to talk about these things until a deal is done"

"But the newspapers down south have picked up on the story so I can confirm that we are in discussions about signing Graham Barrett from Arsenal.

"The player was thinking over a move at the weekend but we have yet to meet with the player and his agent.
"That is as far as the deal has gone at this moment in time."
