Darryl Powell could be set for a free transfer move to relegation threatned Sheff Wednesday after being released by Birmingham City.

Darryl Powell could be given a football lifeline with Sheff Wednesday after being released after his short term deal came to an end.

Powell 31 as rarely figured in Steve Bruce's side this season and it's no surprised that Blues have not extended his deal , with Gerald Sibon moving out of Hillsborough yesterday the wage bill has been trimmed and Chris Turner can use that funding to sign Powell.

It's reported that there is a two year deal on the table for Powell the former Derby man who hasn't really played much in the last year or so.
