Marlon King faces eight agonising weeks on the sidelines after the striker tore a cartilage in his knee.

Marlon King thought his he had left his nightmare of 2002 well behind him , but he is waiting on a scan from doctors after under going an operation to see if the injury is as worse as feared , if so he could face eight weeks on the sidelines.

King who was jailed last year , came back a new player this season and has scored six goals in the last six games and was attracting rave reviews, but now his Gills career could be halted again due to this injury worry.
