Darryl Powell has joined a relegation battle at Hillsborough by signing on a free from Birmingham City.

Darryl Powell has signed on at Sheffield Wednesday after being released by Birmingham last week , the 31 year old midfeilder will make a massive debut in the Steel City Derby against Utd on Friday.

Powell has signed a 18 month contract at Hillsborough and Turner is already raving about him , Turner speaking to the official Owls website said "Darryl is a very enthusiastic and committed footballer,"

"He has vital experience and many good years in front of him."

"He has an infectious personality on the training ground and on the field and I hope that will spread to the rest of the squad." Turner also added

Turner moved to get Powell because of the departure of Gerald Sibon yesterday , that free up resources and the boss was able to get in Powell who is a strong running midfielder.
