Sherwood On His Way ?

Spurs midfielder Tim Sherwood is reported to be on his way to Portsmouth sometime this week.

Division one leaders Pompey are very close to swooping on the another class act this week in the form of Tim Sherwood of Spurs.

Pompey are looking to strenghning there squad by capturing the out of favour midfielder , Portsmouth are on a sticky patch at the moment and with both Leicester and now in form Sheff Utd breathing down there neck they are hoping Sherwood can sign sometime this week.

Pompey's chief executive Peter Storrie spoke to the Portsmouth News he said "We are in a very strong position in the first division, and we hope this move will cement it, and, as far as we can, guarantee promotion."

"We've spoken with Tim and the talks went very well."

"It's not a free transfer, a fee becomes payable if we are promoted at the end of the season." Storrie also added

Sherwood has been reported to have fallen out with Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle and it's no surprise that the player wants out of White Hart Lane.
