Sherwood Deal Very Close

Spurs midfielder Tim Sherwood's proposed move to Portsmouth is just around the corner according to sources.

Pompey are nearly all set to sign Tim Sherwood from Spurs , after late interest from West Brom it seems Sherwood is looking south rather than north.

Sherwood has been stalling over a move in the last two weeks , and the player is nearly going to end his personal nightmare at White Hart Lane.

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie said about the Sherwwod situation "We are in a very strong position in the first division, and we hope this move will cement it and, as far as we can, guarantee promotion.

"We spoke with Tim and the talks went very well.

"It's not a free transfer a fee becomes payable if we are promoted at the end of the season." Storrie also revealed

Portsmouth are hoping to have Sherwood sign sealed and delievered before the weekend.
