Soltvedt Could Quit

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Tond Egil Soltvedt his considering retirement at the end of the current 2002/2003 league season.

His Owls contract runs out at the end of this season and as well as that he has expressed desires to return to his native home, Norway to play for or manage Brann Bergen.

The former Norwegian International was quoted in Norwehian newspaper Bergensavisen sayin "Retirement is definitely an option. However, the decision is up to Brann."

Officials from the Brann club will wait until the end of the English Football League season before they decide weather to sign Soltvedt or not.

"Trond Egil has said earlier that he wanted to play in England until the end of the season, so we won't be contacting him until the transfer window closes in January," said Brann's sporting director Per-Ove Ludvigsen.
