Gudjon Thordarson has finally severed his links with Stoke City after accepting a payoff from the Potteries club.

Gudjon Thordarson has finally parted company with Stoke after agreeing a £37,500 payoff today , the former Stoke boss who was sacked only five days after one of Stoke's finest days in years that being gaining promotion back to the First Division.

A Stoke City spokesman said "The club will pay a total sum of £37,500 in settlement of Mr Thordarson's claims and are pleased to bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion."
