Sherwood eyes Premiership

Tim Sherwood is keen to get back to the F.A. Premier League by getting his new Portsmouth side promoted.

Sherwood, aged 33 ended moths of speculation by joining Pompey from Tottenham Hotspur last Wednesday, the deal will last until the end of the current 2002/2003 season with a view to a permanent move.

Sherwood said: "There is enough quality in the side to take us up. It was the ambition of the club that brought me here and they have enough players to do the business."
