Prutton To St Mary's

Gordon Strachan has signed Nottm Forest Midfielder David Prutton on a four year deal.

Gordon Strachan the Saints manager has acted quickly on the last day of the transfer month by grabbing David Prutton from Forest for £2.5 million.

Prutton has signed a four year deal at St Mary's but will not figure in tommorows game at home to Man Utd.

Rupert Lowe the Saints chairman spoke on the Saints website "We are delighted to have got him."

"He is a really good player and all the training staff were very keen to sign him. This is the big one we wanted."

"But we were not prepared to pay over the odds so it was a question of holding our nerve and making sure we got the best possible deal for this club." Lowe added

The deal was sorted very quickly Prutton travelled down south on Thursday ,and passed a medical that night and signed straight away this morning.
