Wembley's Twin Towers Gone But Not Forgotten

Just a few moments ago the final phase of the demolishing the old Wembley begun , the famous twin towers will be no more and the old ground just a piece of history.

The end of an era today as the final jigsaw of demolishing the old Wembley begun , the 80 year old landmark will be no more in a week or so as a monster vehicle called Goliath begun demolishing the twin towers.

The towers will not be demolished straight away has a delicate operation to remove the tops of them will take at least a week or so.

So in the next week work starts on the £757 million project on the new Wembley which will have a 133 metre arch across the stadium which will be one of the most visible landmarks across London.

The time scale of the operation will take upto 3 years and when finished it will hold 90,000 and have a sliding roof to help the pitch ,

Coverage of the event which was shown live on Sky Sports News will have architect Lord Foster and Ray Clemence former Liverpool and England keeper leading the demolition ceremony

The tops of the twin towers which as the moment are being carefully removed are to be placed in the new Wembley hall of fame when completion of the stadium is done.
