Turner - New Pay Plan Backing

Chris Turner has thrown his support at a new suggested pay plan for the Nationwide League.

Sheff Wednesday boss Chris Turner has given his support behind a reported new pay plan by the Football League.

Plans are being reported in which players in the Nationwide League will be payed on a pay like you play structure , and Turner is adament thats the way forward to stop clubs getting into debt.

Chris Turner stated about the pay plan when he was at Hartlepool said "When I went there, players were getting paid (bonuses) for being third or second from bottom."

"I invented a scheme where if they were below 16th they didn't get anything."

"Then it was changed so they had to get in the top 10. But there were good rewards for getting in the top three."

Alan Sykes a member of the Football League is working towards the scheme in which players will be given an increase or decrease on the clubs current situation (ie - promoted or relegated with there clubs).

It will be a massive shake up in football and might not be universally excepted by some of the high earners in Division One , but if the plan goes ahead the big players will have to play there hearts out for there clubs in the near future.
