Robins No Go

Barnsley have denied rumours that they are to sign Rotherham striker Mark Robins on loan.

Rotherham striker Mark Robins will not move to Oakwell on loan as the Tykes are still under the Football League's transfer embargo.

Barnsley have made a small enquiry about Robins but know they can't sign him just yet.

Barnsley boss Glynn Hodges speaking to the Tykes official site said "It does not matter if we try to sign Robins or (Ruud) Van Nistelrooy because we are under the transfer embargo and I do not know when it will be lifted," said Hodges.

"We made an enquiry about Robins some weeks back and were told he would be available on loan."

"But that is as far as it went so any deal is just pie in the sky as far as I am concerned." Hogdes added

Robins has already turned down a move to Tranmere this season as his search to play first team football continues , he has been knocked well down the pecking order with the form of Alan Lee and Darren Byfield so effective this season.
