Butler on his way out of the Mad Stad?

Martin Butler is certainly on his way out of the Madejski Stadium with a host of clubs hoping to take him on loan. Stoke, Preston, Luton and Bristol City have all made enquires about the Dudley born player.

Butler on his way to Division 2 ?

Reading forward Martin Butler has become a target for Luton Town Boss Joe Kinnear.

The former Walsall and Cambridge United Front man is available on loan after failing to impress in the first division.

Butler is vying with Cureton, Forster, Savage and Tyson for forward positions and seems to be losing the battle. He cost the Royals £750,000 in 2000, and despite a good goal scoring record in the lower divisions the first division seems to be one step to far.

Kinnear says that Butler had the chance to go to Stoke, Preston Bristol City or Luton earlier last month, but rejected moves to all of them, but it hasn't stopped Kinnear tabling another bid for the Dudley born player.

It is a well known fact that John Madejski is making cuts at Reading, and it is likely he wouldn't mind offloading one of his highest earners on loan until the end of the season.

Whether Butler would be keen on dropping back in to the second division is not clear, but Kinnear also told Luton's official website that Butler is looking for a permanent move and 2 year contract, something many clubs are reluctant to commit to in the current climate.

It would seem that Butler is going to be on his way out of the Madejski Stadium anytime between now and the end of the season and it's just a matter of where.
