Preston midfielder Paul McKenna has returned to training after a groin strain that has kept him out since early this month and is in contention for the visit of Wolves. 

However, defender Marlon Broomes (bruised thigh) is unlikely to play and remained sidelined for the reserves' 3-2 win over Rotherham in midweek. 

Dickson Etuhu is rated 50-50 after twisting an ankle in training earlier in the week and defender Colin Murdock is unlikely to figure despite returning from a two-match suspension, he is suffering from a knee injury.

The game has come too early for Wolves striker Nathan Blake to return to the first-team set-up. 

The Wales international made his competitive comeback in the reserves last week following foot ligament damage, but wants more matches before a first-team comeback. 

Centre-back Paul Butler is a slight doubt after suffering bruised ribs in a collision with goalkeeper Matt Murray during the 4-2 win at Ipswich on Wednesday. 

Winger Mark Kennedy is available once more, despite planning a trip to see the German national team doctor with a persistent hamstring niggle and striker Dean Sturridge may have to settle for a place on the bench again after Kenny Miller and George Ndah continued their recent blistering strike rate at Portman Road.
