Town Hook Hughes

Grimsby Town have completed the loan signing of defender Richard Hughes from Division One league leaders Portsmouth on a one month deal.

Hughes joined Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth last summer but through injury and lackof first team experience he has failed to made a impact.

It is expected that Richard will fly straight into the Mariners squad tomorrow to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road. Grimsby boss Paul Groves said: "He is a tall strong lad, strong on the ball and he likes to play central position. When you look at his career so far he has a good pedigree and he is still only 23."
