Palace loan striker Noel Whelan wants a permanent move away from Teeside and a switch to Palace is his primary goal.

Whelan has induried a nightmare Riverside stay and has welcomed a move away ,and it's given him a fresh approach to football moving to South London.

Whelan spoke about his move saying "The best thing would be for me to leave Middlesbrough and play my football elsewhere."

"I'd like to leave in the summer if the offer is right. If not, then I'll sit my contract out and go elsewhere afterwards."

"I'd definitely consider an offer from Crystal Palace. I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think it was the right club for me and a good place to play football."

"That's always been the first thing I've thought about."

Whelan got off on the right note for Palace , he scored there goal in the dissapionting defeat at Vally Parade on Saturday , and hopefully he can hit more goals to take Palace towards a playoff place which is still very much open.
