New Coventry manager, Gary McAllister is set to swoop for Newcastles, Scottish international, Gary Caldwell.
Caldwell who made his international debut for Scotland in the 5-0 thrashing by France, has impressed whilst on-loan at Hibernian.
The fact that McAllister has little funds for players is no secret but the club may have decided to allow McAllister some funds as Gary Breen is set to leave the club on a Bosman deal.
Caldwell is valued at around the £2million mark but is out of contract in the summer and it is thought that The Magpies would except offers of around £500,000. Caldwell is only 20 so even if he leaves the Magpies on a Bosman, a fee set by tribunial would be forced upon his new club.
