Preston target Ritchie

Preston boss Craig Brown is believed to be interested in Manchester City defender, Paul Ritchie

Ritchie, who won international caps for Scotland whilst Brown was Scotland manager, would have to take a pay-cut of around 50% to join the Lilywhites.

Ritchie has had an unhappy time at City since joining from Rangers for £500,000 and is keen to move away to kick-start his career.

Meanwhile Brown expects transfer targets, Clyde Wijnhard and Gareth Ainsworth, to give a yes or no answer regarding offered contracts by Friday. Brown will be in Korea for the World Cup by then but still expects an answer from both
