Vialli wants Harper

Watford are rumoured to be ready to make a £800,000 bid for Newcastle's Steve Harper.

The highly rated keeper has declared his unrest at Newcastle following Shay Given's new 5 year deal.

Harper is desperate for first team football and is prepared to drop a division to get it.

Harper made just 3 apperances last season, all in the Worthington Cup, as Given's form was sparkling and received praise from many respected opinions in the game.

Vialli is keen to find a new keeper to replace veteran Alec Chamberlain.
