Dons to become Dons!!!

Wimbledon fans, unhappy at the proposed move to Milton Keyes, are hoping to set up a 'new' Wimbledon in London!

The Dons Trust has set up AFC Wimbledon, a club that will be run by the fans. The trust has raised a massive £70,000 to run the club.

The next step for the club to take now is to join the Ryman League, the club will present their application this evening.

The club plan to groundshare with Kingstonian at Kingsmeadow.

A statement from The Dons Trust read

"If the club are given approval to join the membership, we realise this is an exceptional opportunity for AFC Wimbledon.

"It will be like coming home having left the league during a previous journey almost 40 years ago."
