Rotherham reject PSV proposal

Rotherham United have rejected the chance to play Dutch and European giants PSV Eindhoven in a pre-season friendly.

Depite boasting names such as Marc Van Bommel, Kevin Hofland and Dennis Rommedahl The Millers rejected the offer as they had already have a planned friendly for that date with Shrewsbury Town.

The Dutch club are set to announce South Korean World Cup hero Gus Hiddink as their new manager in the next few days and would have drawn a full house at Millmoor, which PSV proposed as the venue.

Boss Ronnie Moore must be kicking himself at the missed chance of a full house and other commercial spin-offs which would have increased his transfer kitty. However the club must be applauded for keeping to their pre-arranged fixture even though a more lucrative offer came along.
