Ginola in Portmsouth talks

Portsmouth boss Harry Redkanpp has begun talks to bring David Ginola to Fratton Park for next season.

The talented 35-year-old has had a disapointing last few seasons first at Aston Villa and then at Everton and is keen to finish his career with a bang.

One sticking point would be Ginola's wages but the club payed £15,000 for Robert Prosinecki last season. It is hoped that if Ginola signed the extra ticket sales would also help towards his wages.

Boss Harry Redkanpp spoke of Ginola to

'I've spoken to him and he's very interested.

'I think he would be a tremendous signing, but it's not close because I haven't put a deal to him yet.

'It all depends on the finances. He's not at a club at the moment so it's a different ball game.

'It's just a case of whether we can get him without being silly ourselves. He wants to play and I think he would have a good season. He's a top class player.

'I would have thought he could be phenomenal in the first division. He's a nice fella, too.'
