Sereni joins Brescia

Ipswich Town keeper Matteo Sereni has joined Italian club Brescia as expected on-loan.

The Italian will join Brescia on a year-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Sereni was desperate to leave England and return to his native Italy following an unhappy spell with The Tractor Boys. Ipswich boss George Burley understood Sereni's situation and allowed him to return.

The departure of Sereni will also reduce the wage bill at Portman Road which may help in keeping the likes of Matt Holland at the club.
