Preston reject 3rd Gregan bid

Preston have rejected a THIRD bid from West Brom for their skipper Sean Gregan.

After two previous rejected bids, West Brom have returned with another bid which again is only a slight improvement.

West Brom want Gregan to bolster the midfield as they prepare for the 1st Premiership season but their offer is way below Preston's valuation of thier skipper.

Speaking to the Preston club website Chief Executive Tony Scholes said "The third bid does represent a slight improvement on their second proposal, but it does not represent our valuation of Sean and West Brom have been told that.

"We have reminded them of what our valuation is."

Meanwhile the club has been granted international clearance to allow Israeli trialist Amir Shelah to play in this evenings friendly with Burscough.

Shelah is described as a strong centre half with 18 international caps. One of his closest friends is Man City's Eyal Berkovic.

Preston boss Craig Brown spoke to the clubs website about the trialist. "He is a strong defender with a lot of experience and we are going to give him a run out as a substitute at Burscough and see what he can do."
