Talks between Cardiff City and Grimsby Town keeper Danny Coyne have broken down.

Coyne travelled to Cardiff to talk to Bluebirds manager Lennie Lawrence, Coyne's former manager at Grimsby.

Lawrence is a big fan of Coyne and was quick to react to news that Coyne had been placed on the transfer list by Grimsby for financial reasons.

The talks however have broken down and Coyne has since returned to Grimsby and is set to join the team on their tour of Sweeden and Denmark.

Grimsby boss Paul Groves told the clubs official site of the developments. "Danny contacted me on Tuesday evening and told me there had been no agreement between himself and Cardiff City.

"He confirmed to me that he will be available for our tour, and I'm delighted to have Danny still with us."

If Coyne did leave Grimsby would be left with just 18-year-old rookie Bradley Hughes as reserve team keeper Steve Croudson will be out till October following an operation.
