Wolves today completed the signing of Dennis Irwin.

The 36-year-old full back agreed a 1-year-deal after his release from Manchester United.

Irwin can play as either sided full back but is expected to replace the departed Kevin Muscat.

Irwin had a long and successful spell at Old Trafford winning trophies after trophies but with the likes of the Nevilles, Wes Brown and Mikael Silvestre at the club Irwin's chances became limited.

Wolves boss Dave Jones was delighted with his purchase when speaking to the clubs website. "I am pleased to have picked up such an accomplished player, whose pedigree is second to none.

"The experience he will bring to the squad is unprecedented.

"It was a scoop to pick him up with so many other clubs chasing him. He is going to be of great benefit to the club.

"He is without doubt a top professional."
