Sheffield Wednesday striker Llyod Owusu looks set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury.

The striker was signed on a Bosman free-trasnfer from Brentford this summer having impressed for the Bees last season.

Owusu had been hoping to make an immediate impact for his new club but will now be forced to watch.

Owls boss Terry Yorath confirmed the injury to the clubs website. "I'm not going to risk him.

"There's no point in rushing him back and then risk losing him for half the season. Hopefully he'll only miss two or three games."
