Portsmouth have loaned striker Deon Burton from Derby County.

The 25-year-old started his career at Portsmouth before leaving for Derby in 1997.

At Pride Park Burton got off to a good start and made the World Cup with Jamacia in 1998. Burton even played in the Europe Vs Rest of the World game that preluded the tournament, replacing Ronaldo.

Burton's career hit a down-point soon though and the pacy frontman was loaned out to Stoke City last season and scored the winner in the Play-off Final against Brentford.

Portsmouth boss Harry Redkanpp opted to loan Burton after Rory Allen failed a fitness test and joined fellow strikers Marc Burchill (injured) and Svetoslav Todorov (suspended) in missing Saturday's game with Nottm Forest.
