No bids for Carlos

Wrexham manager Denis Smith believes reports of a big money move to The JJB Stadium are just paper talk and Carlos is going nowhere!

“I’ve heard that Paul Jewell has given clubs until tomorrow lunchtime to accept bids – so that definitely rules us out because we’ve had no bids or contact from Wigan,” said Smith to The Evening Leader.

“I spoke to Carlos yesterday and he knows nothing about a move. I think people are just looking at this January transfer window and linking players with clubs. The transfer window only applies to clubs in the Premiership so Wigan could have come in for Carlos at any time.”

But Denis Smith had admitted Wigan are one of a few clubs interested in bringing Carlos Edwards to their club.

So for the time being at least, Carlos Edwards is staying at The Racecourse, but would a high bid be too much to resist with talk of cash problems recently?
