George Reynolds is one of football's most colourful characters.
On Tuesday evening, BBC2's Homeground will follow spectacular rise and fall of this colourful local legend, and will go behind the scenes at his former club, Darlington FC.
Revered as a hero in his hometown of Sunderland, but feared by his critics, Reynolds had a tough upbringing in a neighbourhood where bare knuckle fighting was a common occurrence.
Homeground follows the millionaire as he builds a costly Premiership-sized stadium, only to leave his third division club on the brink of collapse. The millionaire had spent had more than £30 m on a new stadium to fulfill his dream.
The football club is in now in administration and battling against relegation from the Football League.
