New star for Real Madrid?

Argentine young star Fernando Gago is on the verge of signing for Real Madrid. The 20-year-old midfielder has been trailed by Madrid for more than a year and Spanish directives are ready to start negotiations with his club, Boca Juniors. The fee could rise to 20 million dollars.

Fernando Gago has already made a big impact not only in the Argentinian league, but all around the world, attracting the interest of not only Real Madrid, but many other powerful teams going from Chelsea to Atlético Madrid.

The talented midfielder, who is often compared to his idol Fernando Redondo, has been the key to help his team Boca Jrs. win five titles in the last year and thus become the club to have won more international championships in the world (16 in total, one more than Real Madrid and Milan).

Now, Real Madrid have decided to act and the long-waited negotiations may be starting immediately as Madrid directives will be traveling to Buenos Aires to engage talks with Boca Jrs. president Mauricio Macri, who will be asking for no less than 20 million dollars, but admitted it would be very difficult to keep Gago.

The young star confessed that playing for Madrid would be a dream come true, as he stated:

“It makes me proud that one of the best clubs in the world want to have me in its team.

“It means I’m doing well and it’s extra motivation to maintain my form.

“I find the Spanish League beautiful and I’d love to play there.

“There are great players in it; Agüero (Atlético Madrid) is there, he has adapted very quickly and will be one of the stars of the tournament.
