French star gets the sack

French veteran star Vikash Dhorasoo has had his contract with Paris St. Germain terminated putting end to a long story of conflicts between the player, his coach and the club. The former Milan midfielder, aged 33, had a very bad relationship with his coach Guy Lacombe.

The saga took on for several months. A month ago, after being dropped from the first team and sent him to play for the reserves, the player publicly criticized Lacombe saying he felt "humiliated", disputing his tactics and calling him a "liar" in an interview to French paper L'equipe. Lacombe reacted by stating:

"'Dhorasoo is not professional enough on the pitch considering his potential."

Dhorasoo, who played for france in the last World Cup, was suspended by his club on 2 October and hasn't trained with his team ever since. The reasons for this vary: it could be a reaction to the player's outburst, but also he is accused of feigning injuries and ruling himself out of games he could have played in.

Dhorasoo's representatives, as a reply to his contract termination, stated:

"Dhorasoo protests against those grievances and against his dismissal, he takes exception to claim he lacks a sense of duty and loyalty."
