Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to take Chinese striker Mao Jianqing on trial before the end of the month, according to reports in his homeland.
The 20-year-old striker has been one of the top players for Chinese front-runners Shenhua this season, and also scored the crucial goal against Palestine that helped to send his country through to the Asian Cup finals next year.
Mao told the Xinmin Evening News: "If there is an opportunity, I'd love to give it a go."
Arsenal's scouts will have another chance to assess the player next month, as he has been included in China's squad for the Asian games in Qatar.
