Newcastle to bid for Lynch?

Newcastle United are considering a bid for England U19 defender Joel Lynch, according to reports in England today. Lynch came through the youth ranks at Brighton FC.

The 19-year old is at best as central defender but could play as left back as well. The youngster would relish the opportunity to join a Premiership team.

Newcastle are currently looking to bolster their defence in a bid to avoid relegation.

Newcastle United are not the only interested side, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Blackburn, Watford, Wolves and West Ham United all have been credited with interest in the youngster before.
